This concert was the culminating event of the Weill Music Institute Professional Training Workshop "Reich on Reich: Steve Reich @ 70", a six-day workshop in which participants worked with Steve Reich on several of his works, including "Music for Pieces of Wood", Triple Quartet, Sextet, and "City Life". Conductor Brad Lubman, percussionists Russell Hartenberger and Bob Becker, and violinist Elizabeth Lim-Dutton joined the composer in coaching the participants for this Zankel Hall performance.
This event was part of New York Celebrates Steve Reich @ 70, which featured presentations by Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM).</rdfs:comment>
