<rdfs:comment>Funeral services for Sidney Hillman (1887-1946), founder of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America (now UNITE!) and its president from 1914 to 1946.
Doors were opened at 7 a.m. for the viewing of Hillman's body, which was resting in state in a bronze coffin on stage. At 10:30, the hall was cleared for the invitation-only funeral services, which began at 11:45. Mourners included Secretary of Commerce Henry A. Wallace, representing President Truman; Mayor William O'Dwyer; and Fiorello La Guardia.</rdfs:comment>
