<rdfs:comment>Presented under the auspices of the Non-Sectarian Anti-Nazi League to Champion Human Rights, Inc
Entered from New York Times concert listing and review an advertisement in the 4/19/1934 program; stated time is approximate.
According to the review, a "letter was left for Mme. Schumann-Heink at the stage entrance of Carnegie Hall and was handed to her when she arrived there. She read it and put it into her handbag. She said nothing about it to the management, the police or the friends who came with her. In announcing receipt of the letter Mme. Schumann-Heink smiled and said: "I received a letter threatening me with death if I sang here tonight. They can't scare me. I am too old for that. I will sing, when and where I please.""
