- The Carnegie Rose Room was directly beneath and connected with the Carnegie Recital Hall's orchestra floor, in the space that later became the Rose Museum. It was originally called "The Parlors" and was used for receptions for artists appearing in Chamber Music Hall (later Carnegie Recital Hall) and also hosted private functions. It was then taken over by the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, who used the room for rehearsal and study purposes. Carnegie Rose Room was designed by the architectural firm Kahn & Jacons (Ely Jacques Kahn and Robert Allan Jacobs), and opened in October 1950. See Robert E. Simon Jr. Collection, Press Releases: Rose Room (September 26, 1950), CHA-RSCHI-043 | CHA-RSCHI-043 (CH1419518 | CH1419522).
