Note: Robert Helps' Quintet also listed on an April 21, 1976 program by the Da Capo Chamber Players (for whom the work was written), but it isn't clear if the work was performed on that concert or not (no review could be found). The program notes for this performance, listed as a world premiere, are identical to the 1976 program, but review for this performance gives instrumentation as piano, flute, oboe, clarinet, and cello. Perhaps the work was not finished in time for the 1976 concert (a program of premieres), or it could be that the version performed in 1977 was revised or rescored.
