According to the review, the program was organized by subject into five groupings of songs by 20 composers: "Thoughts on Spring," "Mad Music," "The Voice of the Nightingale," "Songs Without Words," and "Alleluias". It is believed that the song identified as "The Rose and the Nightingale," by Alexander Grechaninov, may have actually been the song of that title by Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov.
