According to the review, the first half of the program consisted of "a chronologically arranged sequence of seven capriccios of one sort or another by composers from Frescobaldi through J.S. and W.F. Bach to Haydn, Beethoven, Mendelssohn and, finally, Luigi Dallapiccola." The Haydn and Dallapiccola works are the only ones identified by title.
