According to an article about this event published the following day in the New York Times, "More than 3,500 men and women of varied political and religious beliefs cheered and applauded in Carnegie Hall last night when Protestant, Catholic and Jewish speakers denounced the German-American Bund for the "un-American nature and utterances" of its recent mass meeting held in Madison Square Garden, and upheld American ideals of religious and civil liberty against nazism."
