Title: Apollo 11's 50th Anniversary
Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. After last season's sold-out The Vietnam War: At Home and Abroad, John Monsky returns with his unique form of storytelling. The historian and collector's multimedia presentation brings to life the drama, tragedy, and amazing moments of America's race to space with a 30-piece orchestra, Broadway singers, and stunning photography and film from NASA.
An insert in the program notes: "This evening's program will include a film clip from "Armstrong", detailing Neil Armstrong's first steps on the moon, and the reaction from mission control and fellow astronauts. "Armstrong" was directed by David Fairhead, with the words of Neil Armstrong narrated by Harrison Ford. It was produced by Gareth Dodds and Keith Haviland with executive producers Jim Hays and Mark Stewart, and distributed by Gravitas Ventures."
