An insert in the program signed by cellist Steven Isserlis states:
"Tonight's performance of Haydn's Cello Concerto No. 2 in D Major is dedicated to the memory of the Great János Starker. János was a wonderful cellist and musician, one of the finest teachers in the world, and a loveable, irreplaceable human being. His dry wit masked a heart of gold, and he will be much missed by all of us in the musical world."
