Title: Interesting Directions
Entered from New York Times concert listing and review and information from the Library of Congress. The correct program order of selections may not be reflected. Ruth Brown, originally scheduled to perform, did not appear due to illness. The catalog record from LOC lists a 4th selection among those performed by Weather Report, entitled "Flight 98"; however, no information could be found about a Weather Report tune with that title. No composer could be identified for three of the songs performed by Tony Williams Lifetime; the titles are taken from the LOC catalog record. The presence of the Archie Shepp Quintet is confirmed by the review, but the personnel is not listed there, nor in the event listing, and apparently the quintet's selections were not recorded, since they are not listed in the LOC catalog records.
