A note from the house manager reads:
Red handkerchiefs were handed out to the ushers to wear. Some patrons were also handed out handkerchiefs prior to arriving at the hall. At a certain point at the beginning of the show, the patron were asked to wave them in the air to celebrate Edmonton performing tonight. Mounties were present in the main lobby tonight to greet guests as they entered the hall. Ten people with "whirlybirds" were seated in aisle seats in the parquet. During the Gilliland piece, the people stood up and stepped into the aisles and waved the whirlybirds over there heads to create a sound. This was part of the performance.
