- There was a pre-concert talk at 7 PM with Benjamin Sosland, The Juilliard School.
Clive Gillinson, Executive and Artistic Director, Carnegie Hall, introduced a moment of silence at the beginning of the program with the following remarks:
"On behalf of JapanNYC artistic director Seiji Ozawa, everyone at Carnegie Hall, and all of our festival partners, we would like to acknowledge the devastating earthquake and tsunami that struck the Bach Collegium Japan's native Japan. While our Japan festival proceeds, we offer our thoughts and prayers to all those affected. We believe at this incredibly difficult time that it is particularly important to pay tribute to Japan, its people, and its remarkable culture. Please join me in a moment of silence to honor the victims of this terrible tragedy."
The program was performed with one intermission between the Cum Sancto Spiritu and Credo in Unum Deum.
