Massed on raised seats in the rear of the stage a choir of 200 voices made the big auditorium resound with hymns. The feature fot eh exercises was the presence of Fanny Crosby, the venerable evangelist and hymn writer, who is now in her ninety-second year... Almost all the hymns sung at last night's meeting were written by her. The audience had joined the choir in singing for about half an hour beofre the addresses began."
