This rally/ mass meeting was held under the auspices of The Crusaders in alliance with the American Federation of Labor and the American Legion, with the stated purpose of "staving off inflation." Excerpts from several of the addresses are included in the articles. The rally was advertised by giving away $3,000,000,000 in sham $500 and $1000 bills, each of which invited citizens to attend the meeting with the legend "Stop the Greenback Flood: Attend the Sound Money Mass Meeting at Carnegie Hall."
