  • This program was repeated the next evening, for music students only, with tickets priced at 50 cents. Entered from advertisement and review in the New-York Tribune and New York Times. The Bach sonata on the program was identified in the listing as "Bach, Sonata for two violins, in G major"; it is not clear if this refers to one of the G major trio sonatas (BWV 1038 or BWV 1039), or was a misprint and referred to one of the two sonatas for two violins (both listed as "doubtful and spurious" by the Grove Dictionary), BWV 1036 or BWV 1037.
