Weill Music Institute Professional Training Workshop: Tradition and Innovation: A Workshop with Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble on Mentoring, Creating, and Communicating. Carnegie Hall and the Silk Road Project commissioned new works by both established and emerging composers. Coached by the composers themselves, musicians of the Silk Road Ensemble and a group of young musicians selected through an application process gathered on the Tanglewood Music Center campus to learn these new works in preparation for the world premiere performances on programs presented on September 16 and 17, 2006 in Zankel Hall.
This concert was performed with a center stage configuration.
