Due to the lack of documentation on this performance, and the fluid nature of Ives' works in general and this piece in particular, details on exactly what was performed and its status as a premiere are speculative. The listing does not name the members of the Kohon String Quartet, but personnel recorded here has been based on a review of their Jan. 8, 1955 performance in Carnegie Recital Hall.
