- Entered from newspaper article; stated time is approximate. According to the article, several New York theaters were closed due to fire regulations, including the Vaudeville Theatre on 44th Street near 5th Avenue. "Candida" was playing at the Vaudeville; when the order to close came, manager Winchell Smith, who was leasing the Vaudeville from Charles Frohman, made arrangements to move the production to the Carnegie Lyceum. Advertisements also show some matinee performances taking place at 2:30PM; Shaw's "The Man of Destiny" was added to the bill around February 10. Performances seem to have been transferred back to the Vaudeville (reopening on Feb. 23), ending at the Carnegie Lyceum sometime before February 21, 1904.
