- This concert celebrated the 100th birthday of Irving Berlin; proceeds went to the ASCAP Foundation and The Carnegie Hall Society.
CBS videotaped this performance for broadcast.
Following the film clip from "This Is the Army" (1943), the U.S. Army Chorus entered from back of house singing "This Is the Army", which was followed by remarks from Corporal Jack Lenny and Private Herbert Fluker, two performers from the original stage production. The full cast performed the closing selection, "Theres No Business Like Show Business".
