- All-Beethoven Program
Rudolf Serkin had originally intended to perform a complete cycle of Beethoven's 32 piano sonatas, but on August 23, 1970, an annoucement was published in the New York Times that indicated he would only perform four of the originally scheduled eight recitals. Only the recitals on October 8, October 16, December 9, and December 16, 1970, would be performed, cancelling those scheduled for March, April and May, 1970.
“Serkin Will Play 4 Recitals Instead of the 8 Advertised.” New York Times [New York, N.Y., United States], 23 Aug. 1970, p. 26.
