"Important Notice: Before commencing my program this afternoon, I will play the Chopin Funeral March in memory of two of my dearest friends, Edward Bok and Alexander Lambert, who passed away recently. (Signed) Josef Hofmann"
A review in the New York Times ("Music: Josef Hofmann's Recital" by Olin Downes, Jan. 13, 1930, pg. 26) notes that the program incorrectly identified the Chopin Waltz in A-flat major as Op. 69, stating that "the early waltz in A-flat" was performed instead.
