- Information from FindaGrave.com indicates that composer Charles Tomlinson Griffes collapsed "on December 4, 1919, just after a Carnegie Hall performance of his music"; review for this performance he was present in a first-tier box and acknowledged applause for his work. Griffes never recovered (the illness was influenza), and he died in NY Hospital on April 20, 1920.
