A note in the program reads as follows: One of Count Tolstoy's purposes in lecturing in America is to arouse interest in the creation of a home for aged literary men who have rendered valuable service to humanity by their work and who find themselves in need toward their declining days. The project is to build such a home in Vasnaya Polyana, near the birthplace of Tolstoy.
