- The following note regarding the Chopin waltzes performed by Mr. Janis appears in the program:
"In 1967 Mr. Janis discovered, in France, manuscripts of two Chopin waltzes in unknown versions. In an extraordinary coincidence, he recently found the very same two waltzes in Chopin's hand, and in still different versions at Yale University. The G-flat Waltz will be performed first in the French version, then the Yale version. The E-flat Waltz will be performed in the Yale version."
