Note that listing published in New York Times on Oct. 1, 1939 indicates Duke Ellington and his Orchestra would appear on this program. Review does not mention Ellington, nor do any other materials or the program, so it is assumed that either Ellington was to have been added at the last minute and did not perform, or that the listing was simply a mistake.
Note that although only the bandleaders are listed for the "Finale" (Cab Calloway, Noble Sissle, Louis Armstrong, and Claude Hopkins), program listing and review both indicate that at least part of each of their bands performed.
